The movie of Clueless centers on stereotype on the life of a blonde white female. Throughout the movie, the audience gets a better understanding of who Cher really is. The audience is able to determine that Cher truly has a good heart but she is looked at as just a ditsy dumb white girl or “clueless”. This stereotype has been along for a very long time and it will continue to be in peoples minds for some reason. Cher is not actually Clueless, she looks at the world differently and solves her problems in life that may not be the same as what most other people do. Her bubbly creative personality can easily make viewers interpret her as the stereotypical “dumb blonde”. Before getting to even know Cher, viewers have already created their own opinions on her making it difficult to look past their already set in place stereotyping of the white school girl that she is. Her character makes it very tough to not put that stereotype in place because of how she acts abot everything. But how she acts, is reallt not how she is. Throughout the movie, once she starts to figure out who she really is, she starts to show her true colors by falling in love, doing the right thing for others, and also trying to help her dad on the very important case that he is working on. Another way that she shows tht she is not clueless is by doing what she does for her teachers.
Something that this movie also shows throughout the movie is that the American society views white girls as clueless and only wears short clothing that shows off alot of skin. Throughout the movie, every girl that is shown, is wearing some sort of either business suit that includes a short skirt, or very revealing clothing. The one character that wears clothing that is not like this is the new girl and she is seen as weird and needs a makeover oin the eyes of Cher. Cher is the most popular girl in the school and everyone looks up to her. They dress like her, act like her, and do the same things she does and this also shows how white girls are effected by eachother.
